I am finalising my book about Ride Earth; a cycle journey over 1 year, through 12 countries,  from England to Georgia and the experience of living in the Caucasus.

Update: January 2011

I have settled on a name after receiving many suggestions and votes (from this blog post). The book will be called ‘Weave of the Ride’ with the subtitle ‘Ride Earth: Cycling from England to Georgia’.

Update: December 2011

Coming up with a finalised name and drawing some maps for the book.

Update: June 2011

Its in its finals stages of editing. I have created a blog post (linked here) with a selection of chapter synopses for you to get a taster of the book.

Blurb:

What happens when you quit your life and set off on a massive bike ride?

Back in 2007 I got dissatisfied with my life so I did something about it. I took my passion for cycling and combined it with travel, adventure and philosophy.

Two old friends who are lucky to share a dream and a love for bikes set off on a massive adventure.

I found myself asking the big question about life, trying to make sense of myself and the world through the narrative of the journey.

It was the beginning of a learning process of life, of seeing through preconceptions, media hype, getting back to real human contact and living life as it should be lived.

I learnt about accepting opportunities and meeting people and got an insight in to everyday life of people in countries across Europe, Turkey and to the Caucasus.

Thanks to the following people for help with feedback and editing:

Terry Rosenberg, Pete Moffat, Liz Allen, Ami Lord, Siobhan Graham, Emily Chappell.

A second book is in the pipeline about my onward travels from Georgia through Iran, Pakistan, Nepal and back to Georgia and the associated spiritual quest.
